Your Stamp of Approval!

There is no way around it, each one of us has this need to be loved, approved, and acknowledged. Whether it is on a team, in the band, the choir, in the hallways and classrooms of school, on the internet, among our peers, or in the family-we experience a need to loved and approved by others. The results can be fulfillment, as well as rejection leading to heartache and pain. Why? Why can't we fully satisfy this overwhelming need to be loved, approved, and acknowledged? Psalm 139:13 "Your formed my inward parts; you wove (knitted) me together in my mother's womb. Over 3,000 years ago, Almighty God, Creator of all things, inspired King David to write Psalm 139, so you and I would know today why we have life, and why we have this need. God tells us that He knitted you and me together. Think about the grandmother, aunt, or mother that you have seen knitting while rocking in her rocking chair. Every time you visited her home she had a piece of fabric in her lap, and a long needle in her hand, stitching and creating patterns. With every stitch and pattern she made, she was thinking about you and what you like, taking the time necessary to create the gift to help meet a need. This would usually take a few months. But then, upon one of your return visits, she may still be in her rocking chair, but without the needle and fabric. Instead, she presents to you a homemade scarf, blanket, sweater, or knit cap. Her hope is that her gift would not only meet your need, but remind you of her and her love for you. God tells us that He knit you and me together. While you and were in our mother's womb, unaware of what was going on, Almighty God was stitching into us our personality, our gifts and abilities, and most importantly was stitching within us a need to be loved, approved, and acknowledged by Him, who is love (I John 4:8). God embedded within our DNA this overwhelming need. This is why we have it! Yes, we are relational people, and God created us to love each other, but that love can never take place the way He intended it to take place without each one us, personally experiencing God's love for us. God loves you and me so much that He personally created you and me with His own hands, His own mind, and His own heart. God loves you and me so much that He gave up His only Son (John 3:16), so He could get you and me back as His own! (Galatians 1:4) It is time for you and me to stop seeking the approval of those around us (Galatians 1:10). Yes, we need to be in relationships of all sorts, and encourage one another. But the only way our love, approval, and encouragement for others will serve its full purpose, the way God intended it to, is for us to first love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30), and then love others (Mark 12:31). Let's cry out to our Heavenly Father, for Him to show us His love for us, by revealing the truth of who Jesus Christ is (John 14:6), so we can be reunited with our Creator, our Heavenly Father, and live out this life He has given us the way He has planned it out for us. This all revealed to us in God's word! Jesus Christ is our stamp of approval! bradleyjharter1969@gmail.com
